The tool bar of Google advanced search is very user friendly now. There are options to search for exact phrases, all the given keywords, any of the keywords or even we can remove the search pages with unwanted keywords.

We can also select the language, file type or site where we need to search the articles. Date range, region or location with in the search pages can also be searched.
