*The Indian Patent Office has granted 7,975 patents in the first seven months of 2008-09 in which 2,112 were given to domestic applicants and 5,863 to foreign aspirants.
*A total of 21,564 applications were filed during the period out of which 3,865 were domestic and 17,699 foreign
